Pennsylvania Real Estate License Renewal Credits

All Pennsylvania real estate licensees (salesperson, associate broker, broker) must renew their license every two years. The current renewal period began June 1, 2022, and ends May 31st, 2024. The   Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission requires all real estate licensees (including brokers and associate brokers) to complete 14 hours of education each renewal period.

NOTE: There is a requirement for 3 hours in “responsibilities of the broker and the responsibilities of their licensees in regard to property management, advertising, and general supervision which would include, but not be limited to, commissions and fees” plus the 11 hours in elective topics approved by the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission, will total the necessary 14 hours needed for renewal prior to May 31, 2022. Exceptions are listed below:

  • *Notice for Recent Licensees* The Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission has developed 14 required hours of mandatory continuing education course content for all licensees in their first renewal cycle. This provision affects anyone licensed on or after December 1, 2021. The mandatory course must be completed by May 31, 2024. The Centre County Association of REALTORS® is offering this required course in person October 30 and 31, 2023. Click HERE  to register or if you prefer to take online through our partnership with the CEShop please click HERE. These licensees are exempt from the required hours in “responsibilities of the broker and the responsibilities of their licensees in regard to property management, advertising, and general supervision which would include, but not be limited to, commissions and fees"
  • *New or reactivated Pennsylvania Licensees* – INITIAL RENEWAL PERIOD ONLY – If the first license was issued in the last six months of the 22-24 renewal period (December 1, 2023 – May 31, 2024), the licensee does NOT have to complete continuing education. However, the licensee must complete the renewal application and pay the appropriate fees to the   Real Estate Commission.
